The Story

Dickinson Wright is a leading global law firm, practicing for over 135 years and recognized by top industry publications for their commitment to excellence. They have had an established presence in Columbus since 2012 and have been continuing to grow on an international scale. Parallel with their flourishing reputation, Dickinson Wright chose to relocate to the penthouse suite of a 34-floor building in the financial district of downtown Columbus.

Architecture and design firm, MA Design, created a sleek and tailored menswear-inspired concept for this client, with an emphasis on framed moments and curved forms. By providing thoughtfully curated furniture options to complement—demonstrating a thorough understanding and commitment to MA Design’s vision—Office Revolution was selected as the furniture partner for this project. We worked to incorporate these driving design elements into every area of the office suite, including the spacious private offices and administrative staff stations, quiet focus areas, and gathering places like the open flex space and wet bar.

Custom details and a dark, moody palette give a refined sensibility to the environment. In the café, a large gathering island with a quartz countertop and black tambour wood base anchors the room. The dark tambour is echoed again by the credenza in the executive lounge—both custom furnishings handmade by our sister company, Custom Crafters.

In the executive boardroom, the open loop legs of the Teknion C + D Conference table reference the framed moments motif from the design concept, and wooden panels on the back of the OFS Kasura conference chairs add warmth to the room.

In addition to honoring the design intent, another crucial goal for this project was to support Dickinson Wright in their return to the office. The workstations selected cater to collaboration, a key motivator for returning to the office in person. Standing height surfaces at the outer-facing side of each station provide somewhere for coworkers to stop and talk for quick conversations. Private meeting rooms and “zoom rooms” are located throughout the floor plan to accommodate private or hybrid discussions. Fun additions such as a specialty coffee maker and gaming setup in the breakroom also encourage employees of the firm to come together and build camaraderie.

Characterized by balance and sophistication, Dickinson Wright’s office communicates the prestige and dignity the firm’s clients expect, while also being comfortable and inviting. No matter what the day may bring—from personal focus to large meetings, or even socializing over drinks at the end of the day—the needs of the firm and its clients have been met with style. This flexible and elevated space speaks to Dickinson Wright’s commitment to community, carried from a national level to a local focus.
