Our History

Founded in 2001 by Bernie Donaldson and a small, dedicated team, Office Revolution began as an efficient and effective office furniture dealership with a clear focus: delivering exceptional results for clients. As the first Midwest dealership to exclusively market Teknion, Office Revolution quickly stood out, growing to 19 employees and building a strong, loyal customer base. Bernie, along with partner Mark Knepper, earned a reputation for being true partners in the commercial interiors process—guiding stakeholders through every step, helping them avoid pitfalls, and ensuring successful outcomes. When challenges arose, Office Revolution met them head-on with innovative solutions.

In 2014, Office Revolution joined forces with a family of commercial interiors companies led by Brian Lemay and Dave Feder, including ROE/Evolution Interiors. This partnership expanded the company’s capabilities, offering a broader range of solutions to the mid-market—from new and pre-owned furniture to comprehensive office decommissioning services and skilled delivery and installation teams. Following the merger, ROE/Evolution Interiors was rebranded as Rework, further enhancing the range of complementary services and products available to clients.

Rework now operates as a division of Office Revolution, providing a broad spectrum of solutions, including comprehensive office decommissioning services and a skilled installation team. This specialized division allows Office Revolution to offer clients complete, end-to-end support for their commercial interiors needs.

Over the years, Office Revolution has experienced exponential growth and is now the second-largest Teknion dealer in the United States. With locations in Chicago and Oakbrook, IL, Columbus and Cleveland, OH, and Kansas City, MO, the company has firmly established itself as a leading force in the Midwest commercial interiors market. Looking ahead, Office Revolution remains focused on expanding its presence in the heart of the country, with plans for continued growth.

Today, Office Revolution is led by an experienced ownership team that includes Bernie Donaldson, Neill Malone, and Matt Ruder, alongside President Jill Stewart. Together, they continue to drive the company’s vision of excellence in the commercial interiors industry.
