Our History

Founded in 2001 by Bernie Donaldson and a small, dedicated team, Office Revolution began as an efficient and effective office furniture dealership focused on delivering exceptional results for their clients. As the first Midwest dealership to exclusively market Teknion, Office Revolution quickly distinguished itself, growing to 19 employees with a strong and loyal customer following. Bernie, along with partner Mark Knepper, cultivated a reputation for being true partners in the commercial interiors process, ensuring all stakeholders understood the process, avoided pitfalls, and maximized success. When challenges inevitably arose, Office Revolution faced them head-on, finding innovative solutions to guarantee successful outcomes.

In 2014, Office Revolution merged with a family of commercial interiors companies led by Brian Lemay and Dave Feder, including ROE/Evolution Interiors, Custom Crafters, and Compel. These companies provided a broad spectrum of solutions to the mid-market, ranging from new, pre-owned, and custom furniture options to comprehensive office decommissioning services and a skilled delivery and installation team. Following the merger, ROE/Evolution Interiors was rebranded as Rework, further expanding the range of complementary services and products offered by the newly unified group. Today, Rework, Custom Crafters, and Compel continue to provide unique and valuable services that support and complement Office Revolution’s mission.

Over the years, Office Revolution has experienced exponential growth and is now the second-largest Teknion dealer in the United States. With locations in Bannockburn and Chicago, IL, Columbus and Cleveland, OH, and Kansas City, MO, the company has firmly established itself as a dominant force in the Midwest. Looking ahead, Office Revolution is focused on further expanding its presence in the heart of the country, with plans for continued growth.

Currently, Office Revolution is led by an experienced ownership team that includes Bernie Donaldson, Neill Malone, and Matt Ruder, alongside President Jill Stewart, Chief Human Resource Officer Susan Murphy, and Chief Financial Officer Dale Hari. Together, they continue to drive the company’s vision of excellence in the commercial interiors industry.
